Can anyone help with peeling skin, caused by prescription cream, around pimples?

I have this same peeling problem - i am taking prescription pills and cream - %26#039;Differin%26#039;

i have to wear makeup for my job, but it seems impossible when it is continuoulsy peeling! I used to use the gentle apricot scrub, but the doctor said not to use exfoliants.

???|||Unfortunately, if your doctor says you cannot use exfoliants, there is not much you can do. Just try using a dab of moisturizer on the area and wait it out. If it REALLY bothers you, take a soft washcloth and GENTLY scrub the area. Differin is used for the treatment of acne so when using the product at first, you may experience some peeling. Eventually it does go away so don%26#039;t worry too much about it! Good luck!|||Missy, the Differin is for acne, it%26#039;s not just some random cream that can be replaced with Vaseline.

Poster, did you try a facial moisturizer? A scrub would be very bad to use when your skin is already pealing, especially as a result of Differin. If you are using the DIfferin *cream* at 0.1%, that is already designed to be more gentle on your skin. If it%26#039;s causing problems, you should see the doctor again. Consider Retin-A Micro or Accutane.|||you should just let it peel. Don%26#039;t pull the dead skin. Just let if fall off. Did your doctor say to place it all over your face or on your problem areas? With me, I had to place it only on my forehead and chin and after a few days, It started peeling with some redness. After using it for awhile, my pimples cleared up. Just follow the instructions by the doctor and if your really concerned, call your doctor.|||what ur the creams for??

is it a side effect???

if it isn%26#039;t, i would reccomend that you go to ur doc to talk about it, esp since it%26#039;s your presciption causing it.

i wouldn%26#039;t put make up on it since it%26#039;s already peeling. i would put on moisterizer though.

always cleanse, tone, and moisterize 2x every day. i would really reccomend something like clinique or H2O~+--%26gt;it%26#039;s really good!!!!|||quit using the cream! and use Vaseline, rub it on your face. and dont believe the lies about Vaseline, it does not cause your skin to be greasy, in fact it is one of the best moisturizers to use on your face.|||Look for an oil free moisturizer and use it on dry spots under your makeup.
