clear it up it is really getting me down|||Ok skin conditions are always an indication of either stress, allergy or if unfortunate you are born with it. What you need to do is carry on with the creams the doc prescribed, get yourself a bath lotion like oilatum or similar, and bath twice a day in that.
Look at what triggers it and try avoiding it if u can. Normally things like soap powders and certain food substances can make it worse. Stress has got to be the most common trigger in older people. try relaxing once in a while|||I have had psoriasis for 40 years, since being a child and it has varied from chronic to mild and every shade of the spectrum!
It varies largely in individuals and its been my experience to find what works for you rather than copy other peoples treatments. Keep in touch with your doctor and if it gets really bad ask to be referred to a specialist.
I have got to the stage where I control my psoriasis, NOT the other way round! I largely ignore it and get on with my life.
Remember this: worrying about it will simply make it worse, learn to ignore it. I found (but as I said earlier, this worked for me only) that becoming a vegetarian helped tremendously and recently when I started to diet, I was quite overweight, my psoriasis almost vanished!
Good luck and keep your chin up!|||See if you can get an allergy test. Sometimes allergies can cause psoriasis to flare up.|||I always find mine clears up a bit when I eat lots of peanuts.
If you smoke, giving up definitely helps.|||hi, i had psoriasis for 5 years on my shins. i used betnovate for about 3 years, tried aloe vera, nettle tea, uv lamps, acupunture, chinese herbs.
out of all these type of treatments, i found that aloe vera and the uv lamps made it better for a few months, but it came back again. I started acupunture and herbs about 10 weeks ago and it has completely cleared. my recommendation is maybe try and find a chinese medicine practioner (if you%26#039;ve given everything else a try)/|||you should maybe go to a dermatologist, he/she can give you cortizone shots, and it does help..|||I cannot say how to clear it up, but avoid eating all dairy products including chocolate for a while and see how it goes.
I empathise with you..but my experience has shown that nothing will clear it up. I put Aqueous Cream BP on my skin and it does help to contain the itchiness (Boots own very cheap).
Also if you take a shower try and use a two in one shampoo instead of separate shampoo and conditioner.
I hope that your condition improves for you. All the best xx|||try a turkey and orange juice diet.. plenty of sunshine on your body helps, a cream called %26quot;silkis%26quot; from your quack will help you.. g%26#039;luck x|||i also suffer with psoriasis defiantly see a dermatologist as sometimes u need UV treatment it works wonders there are lots of types of psoriasis mines guttate its the pits|||lots of refined sugar in your diet can make it worse. if you add spoonfuls of sugar to your tea and cereal try cutting it out completely. if that doesnt work then vitamin d is usually helpful too so try and get some sunshine......... or a better bet would be some supplements.
as you probably know psoriasis is not hereditary and is usually stress induced. unfortunately there%26#039;s not a lot you can do about stress apart from change your lifestyle so if it bothers you that much it may pay to take a long holiday.
hope it clears up|||I dont know much about this condition- it might be good if you did a search on the internet- you might find some useful information.|||You need to go back to your GP and get them to either try you with a different cream or possibly refer you to a specialist.|||It can be made worse by stress. Get some exercise.Do some relaxing meditating.......anything to relieve the stress.
Make sure you are drinking lots of water. And get healthy fats in your diet like avacado, and olive oil. Try to eat as healthy as you can. Cut back on suger, junk food.
There is an old remedy made from Tar. have you tried that?|||My grandmother%26#039;s got worse before it got better with a cream from her general practitioner. But as soon as it was under control it seemed to flair right back up. What worked for her was seeing a dermatologist. I think she got a cortisone shot and a cream of a different nature and she has spots here and there but they aren%26#039;t painful and inflamed anymore.|||Friend of mine has the same condition and it can only be relieved for him by going out in the sun or using a sunbed.|||My husband suffers from psoriasis he has the usual creams, but he also uses Capasal its a shampoo but his GP said he could use it as a body wash, it smells of coal tar, but he finds it does help. Also try the usual keep to mild non perfumed soap washing powders etc. Have a word with your local herbalist they can be a great help. At night try wearing a pair of cotton gloves at bedtime this will help when you are scratching|||Sunshine always helped mine. People often got to tanning booths, but in the hospital, as the time you spend in there is minimal to start off with and has to be monitered, depending on your skin type. Ask your GP about it.
