I am currently 6 wks pregnant and i suffer from psoriasis. I am currently on fluocinolone for my scalp and cortisteriod cream and tar cream for my body. I was just wondering if i should stop using the cream for my psoriasis considering the risks to my baby. I am at a loss considering the risks vs the benefits for myself. I havent yet seen an OBGYN for accurate answer. What should i do?|||Yes, see your Oby/Gyn right away, or at least give him a call. This is a question he will have answered for other women, and he knows how critical this stage of your baby%26#039;s development is and will give you the right answer. He may want to see you sooner than your regularly scheduled appointment, too.
You can also try homeopathic solutions or accupuncture to help control the itching, flaking skin and rashes.
Good luck!|||I know how that is, a family member of mmine had it and stopped using the cortisteroid cream when she was pregnant. She found some natural stuff that actually helped just as good and was safe for her and the baby. It%26#039;s on www.womenshelp.net on the homepage.|||my husband has psoriasis really bad. and he gets lazy about making appointments to refill his prescriptions... i%26#039;m not sure were you live but the body shop carries a creme called hemp body butter and hemp intensive hand creme it works wonders for a non prescription creme also sea salt baths since its only temorary tillyou can start using the prescription again. hope this helps congratulations on the baby|||I believe I would stop those meds until I see my doctor. They could harm the baby. It%26#039;s better to be safe than sorry.
