What are good over the counter genital wart creams that don't require doctor's prescription? more details...

i%26#039;d really appreciate it if you say a little something about it too.I%26#039;ve been really worried and I need to know the safest one I should buy. Some people buy creams or solutions not ideal for genital warts... there%26#039;s this solution called wart-off 17% check it through http://www.pfizerch.com/product.aspx?id=453...

please give ur suggestions ASAP. i don%26#039;t want it to spread.|||Unfortunatley, your best bet is to go see a doctor. Not only can they prescribe the best possible meds to get rid of the warts, they need to be aware that you have them. Remember, genital warts can cause cervical cancer! It%26#039;s probably best that a doctor knows you have the condition. I know it%26#039;s embarassing, but try and remember that they see this kind of thing all the time and they won%26#039;t think any less of you.

If you want a good over the counter cure though, I suggest trying Zymaderm. You can%26#039;t by it in stores, but they do have a website www.cbrmed.org and you can order it right off the site! It was originally developed for adults and children that were diagnosed w/molluscum contagiosum(a form of the HPV virus that causes genetial warts) My little one contracted these bumps from his daycare. I ordered the oil and used it on him for no more than 2 weeks..every one of his bumps were gone! On the website you can read user testimonials and even chat live with a Zymaderm rep and ask questions about it. It%26#039;s all natural and had no side effects for me and my little one. It really does work. Plus, it much cheaper and less painful than the presciptions that the doctor will give you.

Please, talk to your doctor anyway though. It will be better for you in the long run. Hope this helps and good luck!|||Please go see a doctor ASAP!

Are the antifungal creams canestin and canesten the same and are they otc or prescription?

Canesten, Canesten vaginal, Canesten-s are anti fungal (candidiasis) creams manufactured by Beyer. There is no medicine as canestin as per Indian Drug Review and Current Index of Medical Specialities.

Ugh I hate Acne!! I've got the prescription pills and creams....and still i have breakouts!!!!?

So around this time last year i went to the dermatologist for my acne and he prescribed me minocycline pill as well as Duac Topical Gel, and Differin cream

It took a while but my face eventually cleared up, with the occasional minor outbreak, but it was a lot better than what it was. Then after a few months, he told me i could quit taking the pills and it%26#039;s been months since then. However, recently like the last month or two, my face has been a mess AGAIN!!! and i HATE IT!!! I still use the creams exactly like i%26#039;m supposed to and everything, but still i%26#039;m breaking out!! is it some how possible that my skin got immune to the medication, causing it to no longer work?? i really don%26#039;t know what to do, any one else had a similar problem??

thank you :)|||It might not just be your skin having a certain disorder, but your skin might also be dehydrated, you need to drink plenty of water and get vitamin C , oranges, limes, grapefruit, I don麓t know if that works for you.|||Has your doctor tried you on Accutane (generic Clarivis)? I know several people that have had tremendous success with it. And another good point -the generic is only $4.00 at Wal-Mart.

How to get rid of acne in the naturalist way possible - that is, without using creams or other prescriptions?

just a list of natural ways to get rid of acne... and also, how do you get rid of acne scars (again, not using creams or other prescriptions)? thx!|||the best natural method of treating acne is to do a total body cleanse detox. Toxins build-up in the body is the main cause of acne. Our bodies are constantly exposed to toxins. When your body contains too much toxins, the major organs such as the kidneys, livers, and bowels get overloaded and cannot efficiently remove all of the toxins.

Just like cleaning your house when it gets dirty, you need to do a cleaning of your body because your body gets dirty too! The best and most effective way to do a total body cleanse detox is to do a colon cleanse or use a body cleansing detox foot pads. It is best to do a total body cleanse detox once every six months for a period of 2 weeks. Doing so will get rid of most of the toxins in your body and your overall health will improve! The following are benefits of doing a total body cleanse detox:

* Curing and elimination of acne and more radiant skin

* More energy

* Trimmer appearance - helps you to lose and maintain your weight

* Prevention of illnesses

In addition to doing the total body cleanse detox once everywhere six months, you should also try to control the toxins build up in your body by following the daily guidelines below.

* Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day - Drinking water hydrates the skin and helps to remove the toxins from the body. To make it more effective, you should squeeze lemon juice and add honey.

* Practice deep breathing daily - Deep breathing is known to help remove toxins and can lead to other health benefits.

* Eat fresh, organic, unprocessed food - The food we eat today contains lots of hormones and pesticides. It is best to eat fresh, organic, and unprocessed food as much as possible.

* Eliminate or reduce consumption of alcohol, nicotine, fried food, and sugars as much as possible.

* Stop smoking or exposure to 2nd hand smoking.

* Consume lots of fibers by eating apples and oatmeal - Fibers are very effective at cleansing the colon inside the body of toxins.

* Exercise - Exercise promoting sweating, which helps to remove the toxins through the skin.

*Take Aloe Vera Pill - The health benefits of Aloe Vera have been well documented in various scientific studies. Taking Aloe Vera Pill can be very effective at detoxifying your body and boosting your immune system. As a result, you will have clear, beautiful skin and your overall health will improve as well.

|||A natural way is to apply a small amount of lavender oil which smells lovely but also has antiseptic healing properties.

I heard that drinking tea is good for the body and the skin. A great type of tea is green tea. It has a lot of antioxidants. Which prescription acne creams/gels are the best?

I have been suffering with moderate-to-severe acne for awhile now. I went to the dermatologist who tried to put me on Accutane, but I chickened out after 2 days of treatment because I鈥檝e heard horror stories about hair loss and other side effects. So that option is out. I also don鈥檛 really want to get into oral drugs because I鈥檓 afraid I鈥檒l develop a resistance to the drug, and my acne will break out worse than ever once I stop taking it. That leaves topical creams and gels. I鈥檝e already tried most non-prescription stuff including Proactive and none of them work for me.

This leaves me with prescription-only creams and gels to try, and so my question is:

Which prescription acne creams/gels are the best?

Note: I鈥檓 currently using Benzamycin, which works a little, but not nearly enough.

Please give me some advice!|||From what my dermatologist has said, the strongest gel is tazorac. It is really similar to accutane in what it does to your skin to stop the acne, but without the side effects of accutane. I think it depends on how well your skin reacts to it on how well it does. I was on tazorac for what seemed like forever, and I had been on almost every medicine before that to treat my acne. My dermatologist told me to use it once a day, but I was still breaking out, so I then started using it twice daily, which REALLY shocked my doctor. The only side effect I had was that every once in a while my face would feel like it was on fire (I had to sleep with a cold washcloth over my face to make it stop), and that started when I loaded tazorac on twice a day. A lot of people get dry skin while on it, but apparently my face produces a lot of oil, so my face never got dry. I started taking accutane 5 days ago, and I am fine. All of my friends and relatives who have been on it basically have perfect skin now, and all said that I was going to LOVE what accutane is going to do for me. Their are a lot of bad side effects for most prescription drugs (listen to the commercials) and accutanes side effects really aren%26#039;t worse. I really think you should reconsider accutane. I was on many MANY different medications for 3 YEARS before I got it, and I had to get a new dermatologist that would give it to me to get it (the one before said my face was not bad enough to get it and the one before that refused to prescribe it because of %26quot;legal issues.%26quot; Examples of drugs that I was on: tazorac, differin, benzoclyn, monoclycine, metrogel, evoclin, bactrim, etc. etc. etc.

Prescription blemish creams?

i used Retin a and ironically, the blemishes i have are from that so i was looking for a cream by prescription since OTC stuff doesn%26#039;t work for me and was wondering what creams you guys used and what gave you the fastest results and was effective? Do you know of any non prescription creams or something to get rid of a rash?

It%26#039;s either a rash from thighs rubbing together or a food allergy. Had it for over a year and it comes and goes but mostly stays and used a foot cream and foot powder (recommended by pharmacist who said it sounds like it is just from rubbing) for a couple days a few weeks ago and it went away for good I thought but then it came back. It%26#039;ll take over a month to get into a dermatologist and I haven%26#039;t gone because it clears up by the time I get to go see them. It%26#039;s sore :( I don%26#039;t know if it came back because I stopped using the powder and cream since it was gone but I want it GONE!|||Benadryl cream is generally what we use in the emergency room I work in. They%26#039;ll give you a script for it and tell you to get in to see your dermatologist as soon as possible.

Many offices will let you schedule an %26quot;emergency appointment%26quot; so they can see the rash when it%26#039;s inflamed. Try calling and asking about that.|||Any drugstore or Walmart sells over the counter hydrocortisone cream - generic brand about $3-4.00 a tube. This will treat an allergy. I don%26#039;t think it will do much good for your thighs rubbing together. Try some GoldBond powder for that.|||it does sound like it%26#039;s just from rubbing, suggest you go back to using the powder you used before, or wear pants all the time.

Does shopper's drug mart sell skin bleaching creams/chemical peels without prescription?

Just wondering because I%26#039;m trying to lighten my freckles|||it depends on the cream and peels - if they are prescrption drugs, they noone can sell them without prescription.

Prescription creams..? URGENT?

Okay so i went to my dermatologist this morning and he gave me a prescription for Differin and Clindoxyl gel. I don%26#039;t have bad acne at all. i mean the few odd pimples. thats it. So my question is. I really really don%26#039;t want to use the differin because of the %26quot;it will get worse before it gets better%26quot; because when i get 1or more pimples on my face i cant live my life. Ive already been off for 2 weeks this school year because of pimples.. So i don%26#039;t want to use the differin and just the other clindoxyl.. is this okay?|||Of all the things that could be wrong with a person to prevent them from going to school you are taking time out from your education for pimples?!! If you do not want to take the doctors advise then why did you waste his time and your parents money going in the first place? If you where my child even if I had to put the cream on you myself you would use it.

Is there a doctor..can i cleanse tone and moisturize or cleanse moisturize..while on prescriptions like cream?

cream is differin and tablets a reminocyclone|||Yes definetly keep cleansing, toning and moisturising these meds will not affect that.

If this medication is for acne or skin complaints the main thing to remeber is that you will have to saty out of the sun as it weakens the skin%26#039;s defences to protect from the uva rays.

Use an oil free sunscreen as well.

Prescription creams for acne?

has anyone ever use clindamycin phosphate gel 1% for acne. my dermatologist prescripted me this and i was just wondering if anyone has used it before and what you think of it|||hmm...i havent heard of that one but next time you go and if that medicine you have already doesnt work for you, ask your dermatologist for Duac Topical Gel because it really works for me. email me if u have any questions about it. My email should be on my profile. Hope I helped!

~SmS~|||I%26#039;ve used it, but not the gel. Mine was the liquid kind. It honestly does pretty good, it doesn%26#039;t leave your skin white in places like if they%26#039;ve ever had you use benzoyl peroxide (ugh.). But what worked the absolute best was the Differin. Wonderful, wonderful stuff.

Oh, and let me tell you, zinc naturally helps clear up acne. If you are not taking vitamins with zinc in them, may I suggest that you start. I had moderate acne as a teenager and somehow found out (after all my acne med trial and errors) that zinc was good for acne. I tried it, and to this day, it works. I just eat a vitamin every day, and my skin remains clear, without me having to resort to prescription meds anymore. It%26#039;s way less costly, I%26#039;ll tell ya that. Works like a charm.|||i suggest you get proactive.i used it and its the best it didnt take long to eliminate acne.|||Well i used to be on on clindamycin and when i first started using it it worked after about a month, but then i quit using it for about two weeks b/c all my acne went away. But once i quit using it, all my acne came back twice as worse. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It%26#039;s time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn鈥檛 use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured鈥f we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don鈥檛 want us to know.

Can you buy EMLA cream online or over the counter at a pharmacy? or is it a prescription item?

I want to have this handy just in case the hospital refuses to give me lidocaine before inserting that excrutiatingly painful IV needle/tube.

Pasco County Hospital in Dade City FL does this automatically, they really CARE about patient comfort...Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater FL, likes to see their patients in pain so they can save a buck and treat them like crap.|||EMLA is an over the counter product in some countries like Canada, Australia, and I believe Britain. In the U.S. however, it is not. Have you considered trying lidocaine or something similar OTC. Perhaps you could have your regular doctor get your a script or tell the people at the hospital you refuse to get the test unless they get orders from the physician on staff to numb it properly. You have a right to request this you know. Peace

What non-prescription medications and creams can I use to treat my yeast infection?

There are two OTC creams that you can use (In Canada). When choosing make sure you look at the activie ingredients and not the names. They can be very confusing with ovules and creams. Both dosage forms work quite well but I would prefer the cream because tablets take time to dissolve/melt. Miconazole (Monistat) or Clotrimazole (Canestan). If it%26#039;s your first time, get the 1 day. If it%26#039;s chronic get the 3 day or 7 day. Follow the directions on how to apply and if you don%26#039;t know how to apply it, email me and I%26#039;ll give you directions. If the itching and redness does not go away, see a physician.|||There is a herbal product called %26#039;Manjakani%26#039; (Oak Gall) which can help to treat yeast infection. You can read more info about Manjakani from this link:

http://www.herbsforlove.com/hfl/articles鈥?/a>|||Threelac.Look it up on the internet .|||There are many that do so. Monistat(miconazole) is available as a cream. This is 7 day treatment. There are also other regimens(again miconazole) that are 3 and 1 days that use suppositories as the vehicle of miconazole. (I mention miconazole b/c it is what we keep on the hospital formulary). Others include:

terconazole(Terazol)

butaconazole(Femstat)

clotrimazole(Lotrimin)

Ask you pharmacist. They will help you find what you want or prefer.

PS--I know you asked for just OTC but your OB/GYN may be able to give you an oral tablet(fluconazle) to treat it, if you were interested.

I hope I was helpful!|||aw hell, never thought i would hear that one.

Can I buy Progesterone Cream over the counter or is it prescription only.?

I have been referred by my Doctor to a Fertility Specialist to hopefully get myself put on %26quot;Clomid%26quot; to help me start ovulating, but as the earliest appointment I could get won%26#039;t be until the end of February I wondered if I could try Progesterone Cream in the meantime to try and start ovulating beforehand. My Husband and I have been trying for a baby for over a year, and blood tests have confirmed I am not ovulating, but I have heard that applying this cream can help. Any information on this would really be appreciated, as well as where and how I can get hold of some. Thanks|||Progesterone cream won%26#039;t trigger ovulation.

%26#039;Every month when an egg is released by the ovary (ovulation), the spot where the egg came from turns into a yellow spot called the corpus luteum. The function of the corpus luteum is to produce progesterone. This production starts just after ovulation and generally lasts for around 2 weeks. At that point in time the production of progesterone ceases and it is the dropping levels of progesterone that are the main signal to start the menses.%26#039;

Progesterone can be used to bring on your period, and to build your lining, but it%26#039;s produced (and used medically) after ovulation.

You want to be careful, too, if you aren%26#039;t sure you have a progesterone deficiency, because estrogen and progesterone balance each other. If they%26#039;re knocked out of balance, your cycle can become very irregular.

I%26#039;d check with your Dr. first.

Good luck!|||Try is it? wild yams cream,..that has progesterone in it? We have a couple of wonderful natural food stores,..and they are right on top of such issues,..if you can find a natural store,..I like natures storehouse,.. If not, do the research online,..yes there is stuff out there,..you can order online,..it is a bit pricey if I remember,..like $30.00 or so???Hope this helps!!|||Progesterone will not make you ovulate.

It is very wise to be treated by a fertility specialist while on Clomid because they will likely monitor you much closer than an OB and know more about other available medications if Clomid doesn%26#039;t do the trick.

I know waiting is frustrating.

Have you considered alternative treatment, like acupuncture? There are many acupuncturists who specialize in fertility who may also help. GL!|||Progesterone cream does not trigger ovulation - it helps with the luteal phase (the period of time after ovulation) and can help maintain a pregnancy. Progesterone is usually used AFTER ovulation has occurred.

I have a friend who swears that accupuncture helped her to regulate her cycle and achive ovulation. I would try something like this as it does not actual add outside drugs to your body.

Do prescription acne creams work?

i got prescribed Retin A, but heard it had some pretty nasty side effects (red, dry skin). is it worth it? if it is, what are ways to cure the side effects?

thank you thank you thank you!|||Yeah it should be worth it. Just start out using it once a day for a week and let your skin get used to the chemicals, then gradually use it more. If your skin gets dried out, use face lotion.|||I had adult acne when i turned 30 and went to the docs and he prescribed some lotion. It cleared it right up and hasnt come back. My work collegue had Retin A for Acne Rosacea and it was quite harsh there are some side effects so she stopped taking it. She now uses Purple Emu blemish control cream and it got rid of it when nothing else would after 20 years of suffering. Its expensive but VERY good. BTW the red dry skin with retin A clears up after a few weeks. My friends side affects were worse than that, it made her ill because of another condition and she was in her 40%26#039;s. She also took antibiotics and stuff which worked. But i would recomend trying it. You have nowt to lose babes x|||I have found some good tips in following link, It may be good for you too

Why Don't Prescription Skin Creams Exist as OTC?

If they%26#039;re not potentially addictive and aren%26#039;t consumed the same way as pills, then why are certain skin creams not OTC?|||Because they can still have potentially serious side effects. For example, the tratment for scabies is a 5% permethrin cream, a possible side effect is seizures.

Also, people would try to diagnose and treat themselves when they may or may not have the skin condition they think they have, and while a lot of skin conditions may look similar the treatment will be different depending on the cause of the condition. |||Prescription creams contain medications that are still absorbed by the body. While they may not be addictive, they can certainly reach toxic concentrations in the body if not used carefully and correctly. Things like hydrocortisone creams can upset the blood sugar levels of a diabetic, for instance- and should be used cautiously. Remember, medication doesn%26#039;t have to be taken by mouth to be absorbed by the body, and absorption can be influenced by many factors. That is why some of the creams are not available over the counter.|||Many current OTC used to be prescription-only. As they are deemed to be safe for unsupervised use, many are turned into OTC. |||Because of their side effects or dosing requirements, which need to be supervised by a physician.

Is the number of grams on facial prescription creams for acne affect the strength?

Yes the stronger the grams the more potent the medication. Higher grams will cause more drying but will be more effective for severe acne. If you just have a pimple here or there you should use the lower grams to avoid drying out your skin too much.|||grams have nothing to do with it.....grams are the amount of the cream/ointment you receive. MG are what determines the potency Report Abuse
|||It denends on which number you are talking about. If you mean the number right after the drug name then yes this is the strength but if you mean the number in small letters near the bottom that would be how much is in the tube aka how many grams of ointment is in the tube.|||Huh? Grams? You mean how much is in the container? The directions tell you how much to use and that is the indication of how much medication you are using each time.......not the amount IN the container.

Is there any special non-prescription spot pills or creams?

I am 15 and suffer from really bad acne on my back. It really hurts when it rubs against my clothes and not even my shower in the morning can soothe it.

I went to the doctor and she said that she would give me pills to help, but that it was just my age so I shouldn%26#039;t worry.

I wish I had asked her about any creams I could get.

Do you know any strong acne creams for back (and face) that you can get in the drug store which actually have results?

Thanks xxx|||Have you tried tea tree oil? They sell soaps and lotions made out of it at the Body Shop. Tea tree oil kills the bacteria and fungus. It really does work. It is cheap, too. It is worth a try!|||You can try a product with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid in it. Both of these chemicals help decrease acne. If you use the benzoyl peroxide, be careful because it bleaches out clothes and towels if it touches them.|||God trust me I know what you%26#039;re talking about. it hurts doesnt it? .|||I have had acne for about 7 years now. I%26#039;ve only been prescribed creams. None of them really worked for me and i got the same reactions. They dried my skin out really bad, made it worse. What annoyed me the worse is the ones that say, when using the medication your acne will get worse first and then better, because it was always worse and never better no matter how long I tried the mediciine.

The last cream that my doctor perscribed me was Differin. I%26#039;m not sure if you have had this before, but I actually started to see results. That may help you.

I%26#039;ve never been prescribed pills, but I happened to find some pills for acne over the counter while I was at Wal-Mart. You%26#039;ll find it in the same aisle as all the other acne products. It%26#039;s called Nature%26#039;s Care. They have one for females (pink) and one for males (blue). There are no side affects or anything to worry about. There is a an a.m. and p.m. pill for each day and all you have to do is chew it up really well and swallow it. It doesn%26#039;t taste like anything. I was very iimpressed with the results. This just may work for you. It saves a trip to the Doctor%26#039;s and it%26#039;s safe. Doesn%26#039;t cost u much either. No more than 7 bucks.

I have pretty bad acne. My skin is %26#039;stubborn%26#039;, so it%26#039;s either the meds doesn%26#039;t work at all or it works temporary. I believe I have hormonal acne. I haven%26#039;t been to the dermatologist in years now. But I think I%26#039;m going to try more pills instead of the smelly creams.

Definitely try Nature%26#039;s Care. And talk to your doc about Differin if you haven%26#039;t used it yet.

Hope this helps!!|||My dermatologist prescribed me with Benzaclin. It worked really well ... of you havent tried that yet.|||proactiv is good, i never used it but my friends always complain to me.

Question about prescription acne creams?

My dermatologist prescribed clindamycin and tretinoin for me, and I%26#039;ve been using them for about a week. However my acne seems to be getting worse since I started on the creams. Is this to be expected, or should I talk to the doc about it?|||normal. this is supposed to happen the first week. it can happen the 2nd week too. keep using the perscriptions. if it is still getting worse by the third week than go to the doctor!

also, perscriptions like these dont work very fast. they are called cell turnovers. they arnt just preventing the acne, they are sort of changing the skin but not fully. its kinda hard to explain. if you want more info on your acne meds type em up on google

Why is acyclovir tablets only available on prescription?? but the cream is available on the shelf?

Especially when aciclovir does less harm than a lot of medication u can but OTC? Its like making ibuprofen tablets prescription only whilst the gel is available on the shelf? Dosnt make sense!!!!|||It%26#039;s possibly because it can be harmful during pregnancy and because there are several side effect linked to Aciclovir tablets, so maybe Doctors need to know a patient%26#039;s history before they can be given the tablets. The cream is obviously for external use and the side effects aren%26#039;t such a problem.|||A lot of things that the FDA does makes no sense. However, the answer lies in the blood concentration of the drug: topically applied medication rarely gets the same blood levels of the medication as does oral. So, even though you are correct in that the side effect profile of acyclovir is pretty mild, the FDA has %26quot;protected%26quot; the public by requiring the oral product to be by prescription only.

My gyn just gave me a prescription for Bio Identical Hormones, how do I apply the cream? Where?

I was told to apply the cream on the fleshy parts of your body. Inside upper arms, inside of knees, neck. Anywhere it can be easily absorbed.|||yes, on the inside of your upper arm, thigh, buttocks.|||Agree with the other two responses. I%26#039;ll add that it%26#039;s good to vary where you apply it so it%26#039;s not always the same spot.

My father has gout and I was wondering if there any over the counter/prescription drugs or creams he could use

My father has this condition called gout. He has a hard time walking because his foot is swollen and has a burning sensation. I was wondering what kind of medication or cream I could go out and buy for him? Would icy hot work? Does anyone know any other methods to help treat the pain besides using strong prescription drugs like percoset? I don%26#039;t like the idea of using strong prescription drugs like that.|||Gout is treated with the prescription drug, Allpurinol. Gout is caused because your body is having trouble getting rid of uric acid. He may develop kidney stones also. Please encourage him to take the allpurinol. It is cheap. Also, go to the health food store and get him BLACK CHERRY juice. one tablespoon a day helps the body to naturally get rid of the uric acid. He also needs to limit his amout of protien from wild game, organ meat, and red meat. Please look up gout on the internet. There is a whole diet plan. My husband has this diesease and I just have to alter his diet, he take Allpurinol, and we are living a pain free life for him.|||Get a bottle of cherry syrup from GNC

Gout is from too much uric acid and the cherry juice neutralizes the uric acid

Some other things that are good for gout are garlic, celery, fresh fruit and vegetables flax seed oil and enzymes.

Also some things that cause gout are alchol, too much meat, gravy and mushrooms. He needs to limit these things.|||You father needs to take advil or aleve for the inflammation. He will need to go to a doctor to be put in a maintenance drug called allopurinol that will prevent gout in the future because it will reoccur. He has to restrict certain things from his diet like turkey because it has uric acid in it. Ask him to see a doctor soon.

Just as a pointer: Allopurinol is a maintainance drug. It is not used for treating gout! Ibuprofen and any anti-inflammatory drugs are treatment for ACUTE gout.|||He needs to change his diet! Gout is caused by too much uric acid. Aren%26#039;t quite sure why some get gout and some don%26#039;t but diets high in protein particularly animal protein are one of the causes listed and they can definitely trigger an attack. One thing he shouldn%26#039;t eat is turkey. My mother has gout too and they finally were told about turkey. She does much better now she doesn%26#039;t eat ANY turkey.

Simple treatments are to raise and rest the affected joint(s) for at least 24 hours and take Ibuprofen...aspirin is not recommended.|||Gout is a form of arthritis. Nasty condition. Urate crystals are deposited in the joints, usually the big toe and feet. Very painful. The best thing that your father can do is change is eating habits. Here is some info I give to my patients on acne.

Acne is usually considered an adolescent affliction affecting up to 80 percent of teenagers. Although acne occurs most commonly in adolescent males, it can affect people of any age.

Symptoms

Acne vulgaris, the most common form of acne, consists of whiteheads, blackheads, pimples and deep cysts that appear mainly on the face and to a lesser extent on the chest, shoulders and back.

Acne is often worse during winter, improving during summer.

Causes

Acne commences when the sebaceous ducts in the skin become blocked by skin overgrowth to form a whitehead, or by plugs of sebum which darken on exposure to air forming a blackhead.

When the sebum trapped in the whitehead or blackhead is forced into the deeper skin layers, an inflammatory reaction causes a red lump called a papule. If infection follows, pus collects and the classic pimple (pustule) is seen. When the inflammatory condition is severe, large, painful cysts may form.

Acne is associated with hormonal imbalance, and will typically develop during puberty when hormonal activity increases the size and activity of the sebaceous glands. Some women also experience acne as a component of pre-menstrual syndrome.

The naturopathic view is that acne is aggravated by ineffective elimination from the body, which may be related to a build up of toxins in the system due to an inability of the liver to effectively break down circulatory toxins. It can also be initiated by food sensitivities, poor diet and stress.

Natural Therapies

Zinc is an essential mineral used for wound healing and the normal oil gland function of the skin. It is also involved in the maintenance of vitamin A levels, transport and usage; for protein synthesis, (particularly collagen synthesis); and to help maintain hormonal balance.

Beta-carotene is transformed into vitamin A in the body. These two nutrients act as skin antioxidants, and may be of assistance in the treatment of acne, other skin conditions, and the healing of wounds.

Sulphur is traditionally indicated as a liver tonic to support the body%26#039;s detoxification processes, and for a variety of skin conditions including acne which are associated with sluggish liver function. A liver detox usually helps.

Echinacea has been extensively investigated and has been found to have a variety of actions on the immune system, including antibacterial and antiviral activity.

Calendula has traditionally been used for the treatment of skin infection and to assist wound healing.

Vitex Agnus-Castus is indicated for acne problems which are worse pre-menstrually

Important Notes

If acne is severe or deep, vigorous treatment is required to reduce scarring. For severe, deep lesions topical treatment is unsatisfactory. Consultation with your health professional is advised.

Prevention

There are conflicting theories about direct dietary influences on acne.

The best approach is to adopt a healthy well balanced diet high in fibre, filtered water and fresh fruits and vegetables. Avoid refined or processed foods, sugars and high-fat foods.

Regular exercise is great for your skin, as it improves your circulation and aids in the removal of toxins. Try brisk walking, jogging swimming or any active sport 3 - 4 times per week.

Hope this helps.

Lots of restrictions and very costly, but after 5 months not one pimple, white head or bump. Plus she has been off it for 3 months with no recurrence. My nephew also used it, he had great results, but did develop some zits from shaving. but nothing like the original. don%26#039;t let the cost and FDA stuff scare you, this stuff really works and you%26#039;ll see that when you see the improvement in his mental as well as his physical being.|||You can try the timewise 3-in-1 cleansing bar of Mary Kay as well as the blemish control toner. I%26#039;ve been having chemical pregnancies eversince ttc, and the docs really is%26#039;nt much of help, just saying i%26#039;m having chemical pregnancies, so i read up on it, and most sites recommend using progesterone cream, i have, but i kinda feel that i should have consult my doctor,

any ladies here ever used progesterone cream without consulting a doctor?

can too much progesterone be a bad thing?|||I have been asking similar questions and i%26#039;ll tell u what someone told me. Progesterone is used in birth control too so if u take it before your pregnant,it wont help. i was told ONLY to take when pregnancy is confirmed. If u are pregnant and taking progesterone,don%26#039;t stop taking it untill about week 16 or what ever your dr. says. week 10 (from what i%26#039;ve read) is when the body stops producing progesterone and the placenta takes over producing it. I would never take any herbs or anything without prescription because sometimes they can do the oppisit of what u want. for instance rasberry tea leaf is suppost to strengthen the uterus and is supposedly good for preventing miscarriage, but if taken too much,or at the wrong time, it can make the uterus contract(it%26#039;s a stimulant of the uterus) and acually cause a miscarriage. I would just be very carefull taking anything thats not prescribed. just because someone else takes it and it worked for them doesn%26#039;t mean your body is the same as that persons. I have had 2 recent miscarriages and i really feel like intuitivly i need progesterone too,but i have to wait till day 21 of my cycle to take the blood test to c if i have a deficiency. u should get a blood test too. request another dr. if this one isn%26#039;t helpfull. have they done any blood work on you? they should have. you can find out a lot of answers by a simple blood test. I am hoping my blood work will show that I have a fixable problem so my next pregnancy will stick after i take what ever supplements i need. but please ask a dr. before taking anything that isn%26#039;t prescribed just in case the effect wont be what ur expecting.|||I hope you used the natural progesterone- its much better absorbed than the synthetic one and does not have much side effects. Although I did not use the cream, last yr I took some herbs which work the same way and boost your progesterone- it was OK there were no problems. But if you feel unsure just try mentioning it to your doctor and hear what he/she as to say.

Natural progesterone is really good and makes your cycle more smoother- its the other fillers that may be mixed in with the cream that may have some side effects. Check the brand and ask for any reviews from other users.

I am sure everything will be fine- try not to go overboard with the use and worry. Talk to your doctor and take your vitamins and have plenty of rest. Good luck honey...take care.|||1 mL isn%26#039;t much, but your doc will be able to measure your levels and tell you how much you need. However my doc once told me that progesterone will have a similar effect as the pill and stop pregnancy :S and then I have seen it used as a way to get pregnant....I am glad I didn%26#039;t listen to my doctor. Though I would look into that. Maybe the wrong amount can do the opposite to what you want and it varies for different people... ?? :S

Is there any topical cream you can buy at the pharmacy for herpes if you dont have a prescription?

You need prescription medicine. There are three kinds of oral medication and one kind of ointment to treat herpes.

Herpes outbreaks can go away on their own, but it can take time, a LONG time. It can take months to go away on it%26#039;s own. The best thing you can do is get a prescription. Just go to the doctor and get a prescription and get the generic kind which is less expensive.

You don%26#039;t need to take the medicine every day, just when you are having an outbreak. I don%26#039;t take the medicine everyday, just when I feel I%26#039;m going to have an outbreak or I am having one. The medicine is too expensive to take everyday, and it makes me nauseous.|||The herpes virus lies dormant and outbreaks typically occur when your body%26#039;s immune system is low, you are subjected to stress or your diet is incorrect.

By controlling these three elements one can reduce outbreaks to a minimum.

Get a free herpes survival guide at http://1herpes-treatment.com/|||Research L-lysine. A protein. When levels are high the virus can%26#039;t reproduce.

If you do not it is irresponsable and dangerous to everyone you came in contact with.|||Please take care of yourself and go to a doctor! I know that it is embarrassing, but you need to be educated about your disease and get on medication to help stop the outbreaks.|||Oh please. As for home remedies or non-prescription drugs, there really are none. The more you wait, the more they spread and can become VERY painful (I had to call off work, they were so painful).

If lotion still doesn%26#039;t work for you after a week or two, tell your dermatologist what%26#039;s happening. It could be that the strength of the active ingredients in the cream and gel you%26#039;re putting on your face are too strong, so your derm. can possibly give you a lower-strength prescription or try something milder.|||dryness of the skin is a side effect of retinoid use. I%26#039;m embarassed to go out because no matter how much I mosturize (I even tried vaseline) there%26#039;s still tiny peeling white bits of skin ALL over my face. My acne has gone down but now I%26#039;m not sure which is worse! Please help!!|||Contact the doctor it sounds as if the medication is too strong for you. Medical help for baby's skin? Reaction to prescription cream...?

My baby had a recurrance of her yeast infection. It wasn%26#039;t too bad on her bottom, but bad in her mouth. So the doctor gave us a refill on her medicines, but I got a different brand of nystatin cream for her bottom.

I used it yesterday, but I also used some wipes I%26#039;d never used before. She had a terrible reaction, but I don%26#039;t know to which. But whatever hurt her skin, I need help on what to do now.

In her diaper area, everywhere you%26#039;d usually wipe, she%26#039;s so red, and the skin is weeping. I called the insurance nurse line, and they were really nice, but I%26#039;m still left not knowing what to do. I very gently rinse her with cool water, and I haven%26#039;t put any creams on it. I%26#039;m going to leave her without a diaper as much as possible and keep her as clean as possible. It%26#039;s still weeping a little, like a burn. No real blisters, though, more like cracked skin. Red, moist, cracked. She%26#039;s being so sweet.

Any ideas?|||get her examined by a doctor|||Please check with your doctor first but I would recommend using vasiline, it doesn%26#039;t have anything in it that will affect the skin, it should sooth the area and because of the thick greasy texture of it, it will keep her urine from burning the area. It often leaves scars, its painful, there can be complications, and a LOT of money down the drain. If you got a tattoo you don%26#039;t like, go talk to a good artist. Almost ANY tattoo can be covered and made into something that you will like, even if its solid black. Go talk to an artist, they%26#039;ll let you know what can and can%26#039;t be done. Benzoyl Peroxide prescription cream drying white?

Okay so i just got benzoyl peroxide prescription 5% cream and a retin-a tube from my doctors. so he said to put benzoyl peroxide on in the morning and retin-a at night. BUT THE BENZOYL PEROXIDE DRIES WHITE?!?! i tried rubing it in . and it just still leaves this chalky white residue and it makes my skin feel really tight and dry. is that supposed to happen? retin-a doesnt happen like that it%26#039;s like this yellow clearish gel formula and it just rubs right into my skin. so i dont understnad why my doctor would tell me to use benzoyl peroxide in the morning?? what do i do? and also if i use an oil free non comedogenic moisturizer right after the benzoyl peroxide is that ok?|||yeh...some creams do that while others dont...i was freeked out oin the beginin too!!|||yeah. that%26#039;s probably due to the BP being in cream form rather than gel. when i used to have acne in high school, i always bought the gel, so it didnt get like that.

another solution is that you%26#039;re not rubbing it in or spreading it thinly across your face. but anyways, at least some white residue is normal.

you need to moisturize your face afterwards. that%26#039;s why your face is so tight and dry. its supposed to do this. but u need to counter it with an oil-free moisterizer. go buy some. What are some organic alternatives to fight acne other than prescription creams?

Hi,

Solutions for acne that is resistant to treatment:

Investigate compliance

Increase frequency of topical treatment

Begin or increase oral antibiotic dosage

Search for hormonal derangement

Begin oral isotretinoin therapy

Oral treatment:

Acne that is resistant to topical treatment requires oral antibiotics. Many of the antibiotics useful in acne also have an anti-inflammatory activity, which is nearly as important as their effect on the P acnes itself. Oral erythromycin used to be a common treatment for acne, but the rise of resistance has greatly reduced its utility. It is necessary to begin the treatment with doxycycline or minocylcine. Acquired resistance to minocycline and doxycycline is less common than to erythromycin but is still a concern, and use of these drugs should be limited to those patients who truly need them. Patients are instructed to take the drug with food this minimises stomach complaints and maximises compliance. If minocycline or doxycycline cannot be used, alternatives include co-trimoxazole and ciprofloxacin. Risk of acquiring resistance to these drugs after long-term use has not been studied, but the use of these drugs should be minimised. In general, cephalosporins and penicillins are not very effective in treating acne. The increased cost of some of these newer drugs may make using isotretinoin an attractive option in the long-term treatment.

Hormonal treatment:

It is wrong to assume that any woman with acne have a hormonal derangement. In fact, androgen levels do not correlate with acne severity among people with acne. Acne resistant to treatment, especially in a woman with irregular menses, should be investigated. Measurements of total and free testosterone as well as dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate. If these levels are raised, four approaches may be taken: suppression with low dose oral corticosteroid, oral contraception, cyproterone acetate or spironolactone.

Isotretinoin revolutionised the treatment of severe acne. It is used in case of severe nodular acne, but it is commonly used for severe acne that is resistant to oral antibiotics as well. Patients should be monitored routinely.

I totally know where you%26#039;re coming from. I struggled with really, really bad acne about 2 years ago. Intially I tried tetra-cyclin and retin-a. However, my skin got freakishly dry and I started getting a weird rash on my face.

I also tried a free product I got on the net called Beautiful Skin. Believe it or not, it worked way better than the prescription stuff! I only paid $4.95 for shipping for a month supply. Choose cleansing products that are not overly harsh and are oil-free. Wash your face after sweating heavily. For young women, the use of makeup can exacerbate acne problems, so it is a good idea to pick cosmetics that are non-comedogenic, because they do not clog pores. Never go to sleep at night without washing your face. It is also imperative that you do not squeeze or pinch zits. You may be tempted to do it, but it can lead to scarring. 4- take the cotton and scrub it roughly on your face concentraiting on the areas where you have more acne(if a pimple blew you%26#039;ll feel a burn)

5- after 3-4 minutes of scrubbing verticaly and horizontally, get the efaclare mouse, wet you hands and put a smal ammount on them, then scrub your hands together and apply them on your face scrubbing in a circular motion.

6- wash everything off with water and put the efaclare cream on your face.

Should i get prescription acne medication from a dermatologist, or should I stick to my overthecounter cream?

Normally I have mild acne but all of a sudden breaking out like crazy. Should i get prescription medication from the dermatologist or should I stick to my clean and clear advantage acne control kit? I just turned 15.|||I am also an acne sufferer, and usually my over the counter stuff works pretty well, but when I have a bad flareup that won%26#039;t go away, my doctor puts me on Minicin or Tetracycline for a few weeks and this helps a great deal! I love Clean and Clear Products myself, and use then regularily. Talk it over with an adult, also, to see what they think. Good luck on getting clear!|||Go to a dermatologists because, u want the pimples to go away, not just some to go away so that its back to mild.

doctor and tell him that I want this cream will he prescribe it for me? I am 38 years-old and I want to start a skin-care regimen.|||He may or he may refer you to a dermatologist, if you have specific problems you want to deal with. They sell professional skin care products|||I don%26#039;t see why not..it is not a dangerous medication or anything.

Howcome when I stopped using my prescription acne cream my face cleared up?

Did it just contribute to my acne or what,|||because acne creams and facial washes will only make ur skin more sensitive and break out more, it actually strips your skin layers over time %26amp; can dry it out and cause irritation and damage.

the same thing happened to me. but then i started using oxy and face washes again after that, now even though i dont put it on my face ne more, it is ruined really bad and its all red and broken out now from all the chemical abuse. so i would suggest dont ever put nething on your face again besides water. thats all you need really.|||maybe it just worked.|||allergic reaction maybeez??? xx|||Maybe your face needed something to clear it up at first, but after you used the creams they became too harsh and made it worse with all of those strong chemicals...And now your skin just needs a break from all the abrasive ingredients!|||yeh same me also..when i used to use some creams my face never cleared up but when i stopped it..my face cleared up..i dun no..y but now a days i drink much water, fruits so i guess for me naturally its working...n one Doc told me its natural that young girls must have pimples, spots in their face at any stage..n it would take many years to cure n after that it will go itself..so i guess i passed that stage..anyways..its gud that its cleared up..cheers-S

CAn you buy Kwellada P cream without a prescription? Anyone have an EASY time getting rid of scabies??

Scabies is NOT easy to get rid of...especially if you have a bad case or one that does not react to the normal treatment.

Here are some directions for a product that seems to work at controlling scabies and mites etc that you may want to try:

SCABIES AND MITES: Use 4 ounces of KLEEN-FREE in your bath.

Soak for 15 minutes, get your hair in it also. Try to bathe in the late afternoon to early evening. Try to air dry instead of toweling off and let the Kleen-Free dry on your skin.

Plan on using KleenFree in your bath everyday for the first week then every other day the following week.

Also use 4 ounces of Kleen-Free in your washing machine. You can use a small amount of other detergent at the same time. Always use the HOTTEST WATER you can in all these washings and rinsing.

Apply Kleen-Free directly to the spots that are itching throughout the day.

You buy Kleen-Free on line at kleen-free. com. I have bene told that it works well and since it is non-chemical, it is safe for use by people.

Good luck.|||ask your doctor for a prescription.

Is there a non-prescription similiar to triamcinolone acetonide cream?

my husband has to use this for his allergies but it gets aggravating going to the allergist all the time and paying copays for the visits.

Is there anyone that has found something similar I can order online or buy at the drug store without a prescription?|||Hydrocortisone cream which is a less potent steroid than triamcinolone is the strongest steroid cream you can get over the counter in the USA. If you need something stronger then you either have to get the prescription or possibly buy it from a foreign based pharmacy over the internet.

Be carefull because use of the stronger steroids has more of a chance of having side effects, thinningg out your skin, cause striae
